Give > IYG License Plate

IYG loses it's specialty license plate after only 10 weeks.

20 Senators (listed below) signed a letter to the BMV on the last day of the legislature (March 9) requesting BMV investigate IYG for violating it's contract with the state.

IYG receive a letter from the BMV suspending our specialty plate. IYG has been using the low-numbered plates as thank you gifts to donors who request them. The BMV interpreted this as "selling" the low-numbered plates even though the week before their own Communications Director told the press that using the plates as thank you gifts is common practice. (That man was fired the next day.)

No hearing was held, no investigation was made into the practice (the two other organizations whose plates were suspended had been published in the paper the week before), and no appeal process was disclosed. It is now more apparent than ever that IYG was singled out and targeted by conservative legislators to have our specialty plate taken away.

Thank you to all of the letters and calls offering support and the many, many people who have sent donations to IYG in lieu of purchasing a plate.  You just can't know how much this support mean to us at this time.
