Job Title: Case Management Supervisor

FLSA status: Exempt (Salaried)

Level: Manager

Hours: Full time

Position Summary: This position serves as the supervisor for the Case Management program and the employees in it as well other duties described below.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Promote, maintain, and model working relationships with staff, clients, and partners that are inclusive, respectful and adhere to the vision, mission and core values of the IYG.

  • Prioritizes work of case managers within the department and ensures that deadlines are met. This includes an assessment of the risk to youth when indicators point to potential risks as well as those reported. 

  • Supervises and assigns work to case management employees. Monitors the flow and quality of work performed. Monitor the schedules of case managers and make necessary changes.

  • Lead the efforts of Project Prism and all related processes

  • Handles some case load as needed and as back up for employees

  • Reassigns work to maintain equitable work distribution and to cover all caseloads

  • Ensures effective monitoring and accountability of staff to meet the best interest of youth specifically for direct reports and ensures accountability of the direct reports to set similar goals and objectives for the youth assigned to their caseloads.

  • Ensures effective monitoring and accountability of staff to promote and model responsible case planning in connecting youth with appropriate resources. 

  • Manage Case Management budget to ensure maximum efficiency in services and costs.

  • Helps to establish and communicate policy and objectives to staff

  • Effectively trains staff on new programs and developments, as well as provides training to new staff

  • Identifies issues that need improvements and provides training and development to resolve the issues 

  • Evaluates youth data, including demographic, attendance, and programming data for internal analysis and accountability.

  • Reviews staff and department performance for the Case Managers

  • Identifies employee training needs and prepares employee training plans

  • Conduct performance appraisals and maintains a fact file for all assigned employees

  • Interviews applicants for vacant positions and makes promotional and hiring recommendations 

  • Receives leave requests for employees under their supervision

  • Identifies behaviors and/or performance contrary to the vision, mission and core values of the Indiana Youth Group.  Recommends, assists and documents the need for corrective disciplinary action.

  • Assists the Director of Programming in establishing long-term goals and objectives for Indiana Youth Group Case Management. 

  • Sets and implements with employees both long and short term goals and objectives for the department 

  • Ensures that Case Managers and other staff are following policies, regulations and operating procedures. 

  • Assures that contacts between staff and youth receiving services, as well as, between staff and all other involved social service providers and/or the public are conducted in a professional and ethical manner.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Reporting Structure: This person reports directly to the Director of Programming.

Position Requirements:


  1. Experience providing overall case management services of at least one year or more

  2. A minimum of 1 year of experience in direct services to youth

  3. At least one year of experience supervising others 

  4. Strong foundational knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues and terms

  5. A Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, communication, education, gender studies, sexual studies or related field is preferred

  6. This person must complete and pass all background checks

  7. Evening availability is required several nights a week

  8. Experience with MS Suite such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

  9. Must have strong leadership, time management, organization and communication skills

  10. Ability to interact with youth 12-24 years old and have a good rapport with them

  11. Must be vaccinated for Covid before starting work with us.
