August 2021 Staff Spotlight

Updated: Aug 18, 2021

It is with great pleasure that we announce that our August IYG Spotlight Award winner is Moe Smith (any pronouns with respect)! They joined our team in September of 2018 as Program Coordinator before quickly moving up to the position of Activity Center Coordinator. Moe came to IYG just out of college where they majored in religious studies and served as president of the LGBTQ+ Student Alliance. Their love for youth work and the LGBTQ+ community made employment with IYG a perfect fit. “Working at Indiana Youth Group is a joy because I love programming and event planning, and my heart is working with the youth,” said Moe. “I am proud to be working at IYG. No matter what kind of day I've had, working at our center brings a smile to my face.” When not hard at work around the activity center, Moe loves spending time with their two cats: Grey, a nine year old with a perpetual attitude, and Sasuke, a playful three year old. Both are named after characters from anime series that Moe enjoys.
