We are pleased to announce yet another fabulous winner of the IYG Staff Spotlight Award: Whitney Morris-Lange (she/her/hers)! Whitney joined our team in October of last year as the Grants and Development Manager. Prior to filling this new position, she volunteered with IYG, which afforded her the opportunity to get to know the center, staff, and youth before coming onboard as a full-time member of the team. Whitney began her volunteer work after spending several years living in Berlin, Germany. When she moved back to Indiana, she was determined to find an opportunity to serve the LGBTQ+ community in her home state. Her experience in volunteer work only served to further fuel her desire, which lead to her applying for a job with IYG. "Working for an organization that prioritizes safe and empowering spaces for young people is an honor," said Whitney, "and I value that our mission extends beyond Indianapolis to other parts of Indiana. I also appreciate the inclusivity and support of my queer identity, as well as working alongside others who share their passions and commitment to these principles." Outside of her work, Whitney enjoys travel, language, and cuisine. She also likes to practice yoga, seek out street art, and spend time outdoors. She hopes to soon travel the US to explore new sites and experiences. Whitney also cherishes spending time with her loved ones and is also grateful for the unending love she receives from them as well as her beloved cat, Noodle.
