May 2021 Staff Spotlight

We are pleased to announce that our Staff Spotlight Award winner for May is Zoe O’Haillin-Berne (she/her/hers)! Zoe is our current Marketing and Engagement Coordinator and has been with us since August of 2018. She actually ran across an IYG job listing by complete accident. She took this as a sign and decided to go for it! “I saw it as a great opportunity to serve my own community. As a trans individual, I know I would have loved to have had a place like IYG to turn to as a teen. Now, I have the opportunity everyday to work with an amazing team to create safer spaces for youth and young adults. I often felt isolated and alone as a teen, so I know firsthand how important it is to have a place where you can just be yourself with no fear or reservation. I am also very proud of the work we have done in the last three years to expand the organization and its reach.” As Marketing and Engagement Coordinator, Zoe oversees all of the IYG social media and outward communications such as the newsletter. Outside of IYG, she is heavily involved in theatre and The Wizard of Oz fan community. She currently lives in Lawrence with her husband, Sean; a Cairn Terrier named Dublin; and two black cats, Osman and Ball O'Fur.
